The USA could use your help!

A PETITION TO CONGRESS

to replace our complex income tax with a simple federal sales tax

The present 67,000 pages of burdensome tax legislation allow so many exceptions and exclusions and so much favoritism that it cannot possibly be made fair and simple. This has driven companies and individual bank accounts offshore and encouraged non-compliance costing billions in uncollected taxes. The untaxed underground economy may be near half a trillion dollars annually adding further to the burden of honest and complying citizens. The pimps, prostitutes, pushers of drugs and all the dealers under the table need to help carry our federal tax burden.

FairTax (H.R. 25 & S. 13) would replace the unfixable I.R.S. Code with a simple 23% federal sales tax on new goods and services. This would eliminate all federal withholding, all corporate and individual income taxes, estate, gift, and capital gains taxes. This FairTax progressively untaxes the poor altogether with a rebate. It encourages untaxed corporations to American shores greatly expanding employment opportunities. This would fill our shelves and showrooms with far less expensive goods. "Made in America" can become popular again.

H.R. 25 now has 61 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives and eight senate co-sponsors. For much more complete and timely information on this historic legislation, go to www.fairtax.org and www.fairtaxnation.com .

Please sign this petition and forward it to your voting friends for their signatures; we need many thousands of signatures nationwide. Numbers of voters with ZIPcodes of the politicians' own congressional districts is what impresses politicians. So get your groups and friends to sign and give their ZIPcodes; politicos tend to be biased against FairTax since it takes manipulative power from them and returns the power to the people. We need to show the politicos that we are serious when we say we are fed up with the manipulative games they and their lobbyists play with the present I.R.S. code. When taxpayers learn of FairTax, they generally see that it really does return power to the people. This is worth working for!

HERE IS THE PETITION FOR YOU TO SIGN:

http://www.petitiononline.com/HR25Reps/petition.html

<col width="256*"></col>

To Replace Income Tax With Sales Tax

I DON'T DO POLITICS, but.......

I went to the Facebook Live event today with President Obama. I was a bit diappointed because he answered very few questions, and especially disappointed because he did not answer any of the questions regarding the House and Senate bills HR25 and S13, otherwise known as the Fair Tax. There were many people who asked questions on that subject. It seemed that he addressed issues heard and seen daily everywhere I listen and look. And I really wanted to hear an answer. But, I listened all the way through and even recorded some of it.

I must say that i was apprehensive at best when this man was elected. Now, I am seriously worried how he can lead us out of what is most likely going to become a depression when he obviously doesn't understand even the most basic of economic laws - the LAW OF SUPPLY AND DEMAND.

The law of supply and demand states that, when demand goes up, the price goes up - not down. It's fundamental economics, taught in every educational institution from high school up.

I'm not a Republican. I'm surely not a Democrat. I wasn't a Bush-basher, and I'm not an Obama-basher. I only want to have the confidence that our political leaders possess the knowledge to make things in this country improve. I do not have that confidence.

In My Opinion - A review of Pops Walker's New Book

I met Pops Walker around 2001 at the Mountain Stage Newsong Festival near Charles Town, WV. The first couple encounters were brief introductions and short conversations. Through those exchanges and later opportunities to hear him play and sing his brand of acoustic blues, I pegged Pops as a man who valued his relationships with important people in his life more than anything. Reading Messages Without Melodies Volume 1 confirmed my impression.

In 89 pages, he reveals much about his adult life, sending literary tentacles to his childhood as necessary when background is fitting. Most authors would take hundreds of pages to do the same thing. Not Pops Walker. Pops does not mince words. Oh, much of the language is colorful, no doubt. But like the songs he sings, Messages Without Melodies Volume 1 is long on feel and short on fluff.

Edited and introduced by Lee Maynard (author of another excellent book I read twice recently, titled Crum), Messages Without Melodies Volume 1 is 13 chapters in a style that breaks many publishing “rules”. It quickly becomes obvious that these “rules” have nothing to do with a book’s readability. I read Messages Without Melodies Volume 1 during lunch, and my second reading was just as easy.

Again like his songs, Walker’s book is conversational, spiced with an Army non-com’s manner in places (“if you fish with me, on my stretch of the river, you will have a river stick”). Likewise, chuckles and bona fide belly laughs are called for in places, along with jaw-dropping amazement in others.

I credit Pops Walker as an influence on my own music - right there with Elvis, Sam Cooke, Russell Smith and Harry Chapin. Now, Pops has written a book that is as enjoyable a read as those by any of my favorite authors. I love the music, love the book, love the man. But that just makes me like a lot of other people.

For more information, visit popswalker.com online.

Scary!

I sometimes do business with a NC company named Queensboro. They sell embroidered and digitally printed apparel. Each Christmas season, they have a Haiku contest. The rules are:

Only one entry per customer

A haiku is 3 lines, with 5,7 and 5 syllables per line, in that order. Ex; one two three four five / six seven eight nine ten twelve / forget eleven

Winner gets a $75 gift certificate

So, I entered. I received an e-mail about the voting process and followed the link to vote. Perusing the entries I found this: From Andy Anderson of Department of Justice
It's beginning to look a lot like "Queensboro" (12 syllables, 8 words)
All I want for Christmas is my two "Beanie Hats." (12 syllables, 10 words)
I saw Mommy kissing her "Polar Fleece" (10 syllables, 7 words)

I'm telling you, it is scary that we have idiots in the department of justice. Not surprising - just scary. And to think my Mom wanted me to get a government job!

Anyway, if any of you readers are Queensboro customers, you're eligible to vote, too. Needless to say, I hope you'll vote for me, but vote your heart! The link is: http://www.queensboro.com/web/exec/haiku_entries.php

You have to be signed in to vote.

Thanks for reading!

Yours in tune,

Bill E.
